George R. Brown School of Engineering
Campaign Goal - $115M
- Investing in Students: Education Initiatives - $50 million
- There are several key elements that, taken together, create a truly distinctive approach to engineering education. Our plan includes the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership, the Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen, a five-year engineering leadership program, an engineering education research program and an education technology development center.
- Enhancing our Core Strengths - $40 million
- To maintain our competitive edge and continue to develop innovative technology, we will enhance our core capabilities in nanotechnology, information science and technology, material science and biologically inspired engineering. To that end, we will recruit outstanding researchers — both rising and established stars — by creating endowed chairs and increasing the availability of innovation funds.
- Generating Solutions to Pressing World Issues - $25 million
- In an effort to address some of the most urgent crises facing society, we will make strategic investments in faculty, students and technology in the areas of health, water, communications and energy.
